SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a widely recognized auditing standard that evaluates how service organizations manage and protect customer data. It is based on a set of Trust Services Criteria set forth in TSP section 100, 2017 Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy in AICPA Trust Services Criteria.
